Transgender Care

Panhandle Equality has two (2) new programs available for our transgender community members! The Trans-Closet and the Transgender Care Fund.

Panhandle Equality understands the monetary burden the transition process can be and hopes these programs can help alleviate some of those burdens. Our mission with these programs is to help transgender individuals in our community
on their journey to becoming their happier, healthier, and more authentic selves.

The Trans-Closet contains clothing and accessory items available to transgender individuals starting their transition process. We understand how incredibly unsafe it must feel to go out in public to try on clothes in the gender you identify when it may not match your outward appearance. Not to mention the cost of purchasing a completely new wardrobe. The Trans-Closet is located in our office inside the Prairie Vista UU Church at 2002 5th Avenue in Scottsbluff. The building is safe and secure with locking restrooms available for your privacy. All items from the closet are FREE!

The closet is available every Monday between 5:30pm-7:30pm, no appointment needed. However, if that day/time doesn’t work, an appointment can be made by contacting us in one of the following ways:
We also accept donations for the closet. We are currently in need of gently used:
  • Clothing of all styles and sizes.
  • Shoes of all sizes and types.
  • Purses, wallets, backpacks, and laptop cases.
  • Ties and Accessories (watches, bracelets, necklaces, etc.).
  • Undergarments (only if never worn & still in the package).
  • Hangers and Clothes Racks.
  • Monetary Donations.
***Update: Due to the COVID-19 virus, our open hours for the Trans-Closet are temporarily on hold. If you would like to drop off a donation or need access to the Trans-Closet, please contact us to set an appointment.***
