Panhandle Pride
Panhandle Pride
What is Panhandle Pride?
The first Panhandle Pride was a small potluck style event held on August 29th, 2015 at Gardner Park in Gering, Nebraska. It was planned on only three weeks notice, and drew approximately 130 people. This Pride event led to the creation of our non-profit organization called Panhandle Equality. Panhandle Equality has since moved Pride to Frank Park in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to accommodate growth in attendance and activities. What once started as a small potluck, has now grown into a variety of entertainment, with food trucks, local talent, choir performances, drag performances, community organization/vendor booths, and raffle prizes! Pride has a little bit of everything for everyone.Â
After a virtual Pride event in 2020, and a small movie-night Pride event in 2021, Panhandle Equality organized a 3-day event for the 8th Annual Panhandle Pride in 2022. Since then, we have brought three unique pride events to Scottsbluff across our Pride weekend. In 2025, Panhandle Equality merged with Alliance for Pride and brought two events to Alliance in addition to the Scottsbluff events. They also included Sidney as part of the festivities. Our goal is to provide more events throughout the Panhandle.

Panhandle Pride is difficult to capture in pictures! One of our community members Ryan Hoban, created a short postcard to showcase Pride 2024 and a longer form video with more content. Check them out below!
