Community Closet
Panhandle Equality understands how incredibly unsafe it can be to go out in public to try on clothes when your gender identity or gender expression doesn't match your outward appearance. Also, the cost of purchasing a completely new wardrobe is expensive.
The Community Closet contains clothing and accessory items available to all LGBTQ+ individuals for FREE.
We also accepts donations for the Closet. We are always in need of gently used:
Clothing of all styles and sizes.
Shoes of all sizes and types.
Purses, wallets, backpacks, and laptop cases.
Ties and Accessories (watches, bracelets, necklaces, etc.).
Undergarments (only if never worn & still in the package).
Hangers and Clothes Racks.
The Closet is located at our office which is a safe and secure building with locking restrooms available for your privacy. Enter through the back door (facing the alley), go up the stairs, then to your right. Transgender-Care Fund
The Transgender-Care Fund is a monetary fund available for costs related to transitioning. This fund is available to help with the following expenses:
Items used to help with gender dysphoria.
Undergarments.
Travel expenses for doctor visits related to transitioning.
Costs associated with legal name changes.
Medical supplies related to transitioning.
Hair removal procedures.
And more.
